Sailor Eric Dahlkamp entered his Cross 18 trimaran in the Texas 200 sailboat event this summer. He produced some great videos to share with us about his adventure.

His Cross 18 is great-looking in addition to being a great sailboat. I LOVE the way this craft is setup for comfortable sailing (especially with that bimini top :-)

Just check it out. You’re gonna enjoy his videos below.

Eric Writes:
This past June my brother and me participated in the tenth annual Texas 200, June 12-16. 2017. We sailed my Cross 18 trimaran. Texas 200 website: http://www.texas200.com/

Despite her draft being a little too deep for some of the shallower back bay areas which we avoided, she completed the course well with only one minor hitch. On day 4 of 5 the rudder bottom pintle strap gave way due to metal fatigue. She was under built for the Cross 18 forces. I have since upgraded the rudder attachments to far more robust an arrangement.

My first Texas 200 experience is told via four YouTube videos posted below. I will be back. Its a blast!

Hurricane Harvey has just decimated vast portions of this same Texas Gulf Coast including the very route my brother and I sailed.

The Texas 200 Board has decided to hold the event next year. It is the 2nd full week in June. This will be the 11th annual event. A great group. A wonderful journey. Come!
