We first featured something referred to as a Pedayak on smalltrimarans in this post. The video posted there, however, has disappeared. I was recently reminded of this craft via this interesting article on the DesignBoom site.
What we currently see at the Pedayak website is a commercial craft that utilizes foot pedals, electric propulsion and even sail power. (See the YT video below).
The thing that captures our attention, of course, is this sit-on-top kayak can also be configured into a small trimaran with the addition of double outriggers.
There are some interesting design features here. And it sure looks fun.
We wish the developers much success as a commercial venture (which ain’t easy these days).
