Here is a little plastic sailing kayak from decades ago. As we can see on the main hull, it was called a Triak.
It comes to us from sailor Bill Hackmann, who owns it. Bill shared these images with me last week.
The first photo shows the original version of the boat. And the second photo shows the boat with 2 small children’t catamaran hulls for amas.
Bill likes the small cat hulls because they offer added buoyancy. He is retooling in order to make them slide in and out. The boat also features a kick-up rudder and nicely-sized center board.
Bill said the boat sails well enough. It sure looks fun in a small package.
