Sailor (and DIY self-boatbuilder) Hans Schipper shared the following with me via email a couple weeks ago. He has really been enjoying both of the small tris he built – the Triple B and Watermouse.

Here is what he wrote:

Hi Joe,
Recently my son, daughter-in-law and I sailed with two trimarans to a beach, had a swim and went back.

The water mouse is as fast as the triple B with little wind. With more wind, the triple B accelerates better and faster.

The shore trailer of the water mouse was insufficiently stable. From two old bed frames I welded a cart that carries the trimaran under the beams. That’s quite an improvement that lowered the threshold to use this boat.

All together a lot of fun with making and sailing.
